Tang sherbet
Tang is an orange (or other fruit) flavoured drink powder that was stirred into water to make sherbet, especially at iftar or when guests came.
Era: 90s
What it was like
A spoonful of powder and cold water, done: a bright orange drink. Children often licked the dry powder straight.
In many homes the empty jar wasn't thrown out either; it became a sugar or spice tin.
