Renting a VCR
Renting a VCR meant bringing home a tape player and a few films from the video shop for a day or two, often for Eid or a family event.

What it was like
Several films back to back in one night, with family and neighbours. Later, CD and DVD players could be rented the same way.
It wasn't yours, so it was handled with care, and the tapes were checked when they went back.
