Neighbour's TV
Watching at a neighbour's meant crowding into the house next door to see a cricket or football match when your own home had no TV, very common in the 1990s.
Era: 90s
What it was like
On a big match day, twenty or thirty people could squeeze into one room, and a few more watched through the window.
The house with the TV became the neighbourhood's little cinema.
Questions
- Did every home have a TV in the 1990s?
- No. Many families didn't have one yet, especially in villages, so people watched at a neighbour's.
