Rooftop ghost stories
Rooftop ghost stories were the tales of spirits told by older relatives on the roof or in the courtyard on dark power-cut nights.
Era: 90s & 2000s
What it was like
It was too hot to stay indoors, so mats went down on the roof. A sky full of stars, everything quiet, and the scarier the story the stiller everyone sat.
When the power came back everyone cheered, but nobody wanted to go downstairs alone.
